To everyone out there searching for someone else, I beg to offer the question... Does internet dating ever really work? Further more, have you ever asked yourself what is the difference between online dating and the real thing? In this modern day game of electronic messaging, the lines can get blurry. I'm curious as to what are your experiences with online dating? Ever tried it? Did trying ever lead to meeting someone? If you actually met someone, did that ever lead to anything further? From my own personal experiences on this subject I offer the following thoughts: Online dating is a great way to meet incredible people, that you otherwise would most likely miss in the hustle and bustle of the "real world"... but it also raises some questions as well. Ask yourself, do you want an inbox full of emails, or do you want to actually truely explore someone else. It seems to me that email just leads to a lot more talk and a lot less action. Honestly speaking, if you just want to chat with people and sent flirtatious emails, join a friggin' chat room. Seriously though, to what level of satisfation can even be derived from this electronic form of an age-old game? Last time I checked, an email could not walk with you down a moon lit beach, hike with you to the top of a magnificent mountain, or treat you to even a simple dinner and a movie. We are human... along with the visual and mental attributes email has to offer, we need touch, taste, smells and a variety of other sensations.......... you know, something a bit more tangible. I know it seems that internet dating is an exceptional way to get to know someone on a different level, but at the same time, how many people are actually being themselves on some of those sites. Ladies, do you really think some dude that drinks like a fish, can't hold a steady job, only showers once a week, stays up to 6AM in the morning playing PS2 and then sleeps in until 2PM is actually going to mention any of that in his "about me" section? ...Probably not! That being said, I suppose when one is looking for other individuals to date and socialize with, it is only wise to put yourself out there as much as possile... thus maximizing one's potential for finding someone. Well I suppose I had better get to the end of it, before I end up writing a freaking book on this subject... I want to hear from everyone on this subject.
